( she was there and that made him feel better. clark reaches for her hand and kisses her knuckles. )

It’s okay. I just want you to know that I’m there for you. That’s all.

[ He’s not always chatty when it comes to things that upset him. Lois hates that he feels like he needs to be perfect and needs to bottle everything up. Even he needs people to rely on. ]

[ Lois puts her can of soda on the coffee table, then cuddles in close to Clark with her head under his chin and her arm around his waist. ]

( even when she hadn't been able to tell him, he'd known. he pulls her closer and tucks her against his body, holding her tightly. his body seems to exhale completely and he relaxes. )
